People who love a good laugh are in for a real treat again when Bats theatre group presents its season of the very popular "Life, Laughter and Latte" one act play collection. This year bats are really spoiling their audiences with not three, but four one act plays including a melodrama as well as some very witty and amusing comedies and a delightful array of mouth-watering cakes to be served with coffee and tea at interval.

The plays include:

'Scratch' which is written by and stars local talented play write, Bruce Olive. This play has already been performed at other venues to rave reviews and is sure to entertain audience's at Bats with its light hearted look at the misgivings of winning the lotto. Colette, (Alice Rea) and Brian (Olive) appear to be a happy, loving married  couple, until one Valentines day, an unexpected gift from Brian causes their apparently perfect relationship to spiral into an emotional ………. That scratches the surface of their relationship to reveal deeply hidden emotions and issues. The question is …"will their relationship be able to withstand such a powerful shift?"

"Oh Mother" which is a lovely little comedy  directed by Keith Daly fresh from his starring role in "the Crucible",  Carine Bail, Rita Walker, Debbie Pitura, Carol Hoger and Julie Robinson star in a tale about two recently deceased, but not yet dearly departed ladies who refuse to "pass over" until certain family issues are resolved.

"The Wildflowering of Chastity", is a melodrama directed by well known actress Di Meyers. It stars some very young newcomers to Bats, (Jessica, Jacqui McCarthy and Clinton haines as well as seasoned performers Jan Meade and Neville Bryce.

"Two Women and a Chair", is a multi-award winning production  that gives new meaning to the infamous casting couch. It stars well known actresses, Rainee Skinner and Jenni McCaul.

All four plays and the scrumptious platters of cakes served with coffee or tea will be sure to delight all audiences. This is all included in the amazing price of only $18. And for those seeking a very social night out, the table seating arrangements have, in the past proved to be most enjoyable with some guests choosing to take the opportunity to purchase from  the Bats bar, savouring a bottle of champers and a bit of a chat during interval.

As is becoming more frequent, last years season of Laughter and latte saw some sessions sold out so book your tickets now.
