Newest citizens add flavour to City's unique make-up
Meet Caloundra City's newest Australians at a special Local Government Week Citizenship Ceremony at The Events Centre, commencing at 2.45pm (presentation of certificates at 3.30pm) tomorrow, Wednesday 30 May.
Dozens of residents will make a formal commitment to our nation tomorrow when they take their oath of allegiance as part of an official citizenship ceremony, one of the highlights of Council's annual Local Government Week celebrations.
Caloundra City Mayor said the 65 candidates and dependents in tomorrow's ceremony hail from across the globe.
"It's always a very special moment to witness our newest citizens formally acknowledge their allegiance to our country, and it gives us even greater joy that they have chosen to call Caloundra City home," Cr Aldous said.
"Here in Caloundra City we are proud to be able to boast such a diverse community. The unique mix of people is a feature which supports our long term vision of a strong, healthy community.
