The Maleny Wood Expo is back for 2009! This two-day family event on May 2 - 3 is packed with fun and interest for the whole family. From rustic bush furniture to contemporary design, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland's premier event showcases the region's finest wood artisans.

See THE ARTFUL BODGER, Stan Ceglinski, demonstrating bush and heritage woodcraft skills. Watch the sawdust fly as mobile millers compete in Australia''s FIRST EVER SAWMILL SHOWDOWN.

SPROCKET -- Maleny's mad mobile weapon of mass percussion - will amaze both children and adults and are playing daily. JAMBEZI - is bringing their unique mix of marimbas, kit drums, mbira, congas, vocals, percussion and brass to the Expo on Saturday afternoon.

Pull up a haybale for a beer and burger from the Landcare BBQ or sip a Montville Coffee latte as the kids take time out in the maze.

The Taste Maleny Produce Store is stocked with boutique local produce to taste and take away, and the Sustainable Lifestyle displays will highlight ways for all of us to contribute to a better brighter world.

Wood expo feels naturally better

Learn more about feeling better naturally and sustainable living at the Maleny Wood Expo from May 2-3 at Maleny Showground in the Sunshine Coast hinterland over the Labour Day long weekend.

Sunshine Coast Regional Council and Caloundra Tourism are supporting this family event that showcases the region's finest wood artisans, environmentally-friendly building, and local produce. There will be woodworking demonstrations and lots of activities for the children. Open Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm, admission is $10 for adults, $8 concession and free for children under 16.
