Film Lovers in Noosa can unite with an audience of over 100,000 in over 250 cities across 6 Continents during this week, when the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival screens at The J on Saturday 27 September at 7pm. Ten short films selected from 589 entries from 27 countries, will screen in over 250 cinemas across 6 continents during the week of Sept 26- Oct 5. These short films will not only entertain a global audience but will be judged by that audience as well. Cinema goers will become instant film critics as they will be handed a ballot upon entry that allows them to vote for Best Film and Best Actor.
Votes are sent through to MANHATTAN SHORT HQ and the winner is announced on Monday October 6th. With finalists from this Festival's 17 year history going on to be nominated and even win the Oscar in the short film category, MANHATTAN SHORT is a wonderful opportunity to see the next generation of feature filmmakers from around the world. The 10 selected films are set in diverse locales, ranging from outer space to the deserts of Mexico and the mountains of Norway to the streets of New York, Berlin, London, and Amsterdam. The MANHATTAN SHORT 2014 line-up is as follows: 97% (Netherlands) On/Off (France) Crime—The Animated Series (USA) La Carnada (Mexico) On The Bridge (England) Mend and Make Do (England) Shift (Australia) The Bravest, The Boldest (USA) The Fall (Norway) Rhino Full Throttle (Germany) "This film festival will unite people in all corners of the globe, from Sydney to Mumbai, from Buenos Aires to Cairo.
