24 April 2006  Maroochy commemorates ANZAC Day

The official Maroochy ANZAC Day Citizens March and Service will be held in Nambour on ANZAC Day, Tuesday 25 April at 8.30am. 

The march will assemble in Bury Street and will then proceed down Currie Street at 8.55am.

Led by veterans and followed by antique cars provided by the members of the Sunshine Coast Antique Car Clubs, the Nambour and Maroochy District Band, as well as the Second Light Horse Regiment (Woombye Troop), the parade will pass through Matthew Street then come to a halt at the Quota Memorial Park for the 9.10am Citizens Service. 

Guest Speaker, Vietnam veteran, war historian and respected author Lex McAulay will address the service on the importance of ANZAC day.

Maroochy Shire Council and the Nambour Sub-Branch of the RSL will jointly host the commemorations, with assistance from Nambour Police, 128th Regional Army Cadets and 207 Squadron Air Training Cadets.

A World War II Wirraway vintage plane will perform a flyover at 10am.
