Mary Valley Arts Festival Karen Smith, Valerie Pettingill

A workshop program for artists is being planned for 2014 by the Mary Valley Arts Link organisation.

Roger Hogg was returned as president for the second time to lead the community arts organisation, with the help of vice-president Janine Gledhill, secretary Heinke Butt, and treasurer Nicky Watson.

Mrs Butt said the annual general meeting was a good reminder to members to renew their memberships, but it was also an opportunity to encourage other people to join the organisation.

Mary Valley Arts Link is affiliated with Arts Link Queensland and was formed by community members to encourage the arts and participation in the arts in the Mary Valley.

It auspices some of the key cultural events in the region, including the Mary Valley Art Festival, Mary Valley Scarecrow Festival, Imbil Alive, and a growing number of workshops.

It has also secured $1500 in funding from the Bendigo Bank for the Mary Valley Art Festival this year.

If you would like to find out more, contact Heinke Butt on 5488 6848 or 0419 024291.
