The Hit Off-Broadway Comedy comes to Nambour with Dr Who's Katy Manning
Me & Jezebel
Directed by Barry Crocker
Written by Elizabeth L Fuller
Me & Jezebel is a play about the real-life experiences of the author Elizabeth Fuller who in the summer of 1985 had the legendary screen actress Bette Davis come to stay at her country home.  What was supposed to be an overnight stay turned into an escapade that lasted 32 days!  Davis turned Fuller's home and life upside.
Katy Manning originally performed this production as a two-hander at the Valhalla in Glebe in 2000.  The play has since been re-written and directed for just one actor.  In this production, in a "tour de voice" performance, British born Katy Manning plays all the characters: the inimitable superstar Bette Davis, her hostess Elizabeth Fuller, Fuller's frustrated husband John, her impressionable four year old son Christopher, Fuller's grandmother Ol' Ma and a Dolly Parton-like singing evangelist, Grace.
Katy has worked extensively in television and theatre in both Australia and the UK and is currently the face & voice of UK television on Foxtel with her own chat show.
John Burfitt from the Sydney Star Observer wrote, "This presents a great opportunity to watch an excellent character actress at work tackling the difficult task of stepping in and out of a range of characters.  And Manning does this with great style."
Me & Jezebel will be performed in the intimate theatre space at the Nambour Civic Centre on Friday 14th July at 8pm.  Tickets are $33 for Adults and $30 for Concessions.  Bookings can be made on 5475 7777.
