15 April 2008  First cast members confirmed for the return of Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow

Noosa audiences will be in stitches from belly laughing when the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival brings its tenth Roadshow to The J at Noosa Junction on 21 May at 8pm.

In an effort to keep Australia doubled over with laughter, this year's Roadshow, "Nothing But a Big Joke", will feature a roll call of the most fabulously funny national comedians and international guest artists fresh from the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

So far Dave Thornton and Hannah Gadsby have been confirmed for The J's presentation. Dave Thornton, with his accessible humour and free flowing style, has worked with comedians such as Dave Hughes, Jimeoen and Rove. Hannah Gadsby was the winner of Raw Comedy 2006 and performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. However her biggest achievements in life are in the fields of injury and illness. She has been hit by three cars, fallen off the back of a truck, ridden a bike into a glass greenhouse and slipped on chicken fat in the delicatessen of a major supermarket chain.

The Roadshow will deliver a slick, sophisticated, unpredictable, entertaining and outrageous night out to comedy fans. "You will beg for more," said a review in Western Australia's Pilbara News.

"The Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow has such chalk-and-cheese personalities delivering such a wide assortment of gags, it has everyone's humour covered." Sunday Times (WA)

Tickets are already selling fast so book your Roadshow seats on 5455 4455 for $36 / $32. The bar at The J will open from 7pm for pre-show drinks.
