Share Australia's greatest sporting moments

When Mike Colman was 13 he read a book about the Olympics at his school library and thought "that's what I want to do". Not compete at the world's major sporting event. Write about it. It was a good choice because, according to Mike, as an athlete he makes a pretty good journalist.

Mike has covered every Olympic Games since 1992, plus Commonwealth Games, State of Origin matches, Bledisloe Cups, cricket tests and world boxing titles. He is a columnist with the Courier Mail and Sunday Mail, and has been twice winner of Queensland's sportswriter of the year.

He is also the author of a dozen books, including rugby league best sellers Fatty (Paul Vautin) and Raging Bull (Gordon Tallis) and with Ken Edwards the award winning cricket biography, Eddie Gilbert. His most recent book Queenslander! is an affectionate look at Queensland's involvement with State of Origin which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Share Australia's memorable sporting moments with a writer who has seen them, who knows all the major names and who rates his most exciting events as Cathy Freeman winning the 400m and Ian Thorpe's final leg in the 4x100m relay at the Sydney Olympics.  Mike will be interviewed by journalist Peter Psaltis, Brisbane 4BC's rugby league and Origin commentator. Like Mike, Peter has interviewed some of the biggest names in international sport.
