A single day workshop designed to teach you practical ways of connecting with Mindfulness during the joys & strains of parenthood.
Incorporating mindfulness into your parenting skills can greatly enhance your sense of connectedness with your children, as well as your sense of wellbeing and self-care.
Topics may include:
Developing skills to introduce mindfulness into your parenting skill set
Techniques to engage children in mindfulness practice
Awareness of children's development stages & needs
Include your children in day-to-day mindfulness
Developing insight into your own parenting style
Staying centred and disarming conflict
About the facilitators:
Facilitator Cameron Aggs is a Clinical Psychologist and an internationally published author in mindfulness. He has facilitated over 150 mindfulness training programs since 2007. Cameron is formerly an Early Intervention & Parenting Specialist with Queensland Health. His training includes attachment based parenting models (e.g. Marte Meo, Circle of Security) & behavioural parenting approaches (e.g. Triple P).
Dr Danielle McCarthy of Mind Potential Psychology is a Clinical Psychologist. Her special interests include working with adolescents and their parents in the areas of anxiety, depression, complex-trauma, and behavioural difficulties. She brings with her substantial experience with integrating mindfulness-informed treatments with clients in a way that is practical and easy to understand.
