Join us for a week-long mindfulness meditation retreat, led by popular teachers and psychologists NeLi Martin and Dr. Sam Clarke. This retreat gives mindfulness practitioners a rare opportunity to spend a substantial amount of time in the quiet environment of Chenrezig Institute, and to focus on deepening their daily practice. Mindfulness is the skill of being fully aware of the present moment, and adopting an attitude of openness and acceptance of whatever is happen-ing.
It is an amazing tool to help us handle mental and emotional stresses with calmness, kindness and clarity. Scientific studies show that mindfulness is effective in the treatment of pain, anxiety and high blood pressure, and can increase our sense of wellbeing and personal happiness. The retreat will be held in silence, with daily sitting and walking meditations, teachings and discussions, and optional yoga sessions in the morning. The practice of mindfulness is inspired by Buddhist meditation techniques, but is equally appropriate for people with little or no interest in spiritual traditions. All welcome! NeLi Martin is a psychologist in private practice, and a meditation and yoga teacher.
NeLi integrates her psychology training and many years of mindfulness study and practice. Samantha Clarke is a clinical psychologist and the co-director of Sunshine Coast Clinical Psychology. She has trained staff and university students across Australia, and has given numerous public talks around the world.
