MOSQUITO IDENTIFICATION COURSE
Maroochy Shire Council is hosting a Queensland Health run mosquito identification course involving Local and State Government staff involved in the control of mosquitoes all around the State.
Experts from Queensland Health, Private Industry and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) are training staff from the Public Health Units and Local Governments from Cairns to Emerald to most Councils in South East Queensland in mosquito identification in an effort to increase knowledge and experience in the industry across Queensland.
One of the experts is Dr Mark Breitfuss from QIMR who is the research scientist for the Mosquito Arbovirus Research Committee of which Maroochy Shire is a member and financial contributor.
Dr. Breitfuss is addressing the course tomorrow Wednesday 12 May
