If you are looking for some great holiday entertainment for your children, mark 7/8, 14/15 and 21/22 January in your diaries.
On those weekends Noosa Arts Theatre will be staging Mother Goose at 11am and 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday at the Tewantin State Primary School Hall. (Noosa Art productions will resume at Noosa Arts Theatre when the renovation is completed in March 2012.)
Mother Goose is a fun filled traditional English Pantomime with singing, dancing and lots of audience interaction.
The story is an age old favourite with a fabulous line up of interesting characters, including the Goose that lays the golden egg. Cheering and booing the good and bad characters is part of the fun.
This pantomime has a wonderful script with lots of clever and funny lines to amuse both children and adults.
Director, Yvie Somerville and Assistant Director, Susan Dearnley were both brought up in the UK with its strong pantomime tradition and aim to bring the same joy to children that they experienced growing up.
Both also have the acting and performing credentials to deliver a first rate pantomime.
They have chosen a strong and talented cast with Geoffrey Peckitt as Mother Goose and Roger Shaw as Sidney Snyde.
The cast also includes some talented young performers. Callum Hamacek, who plays Billy Goose, and Chelsea Wallis, who plays Virtue have both recently starred in major roles in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Return to the Forbidden Planet at Noosa Arts Theatre. Other young experienced talent includes Phoebe Evans (Jill Goose), Lizzie Schluter (Jack), Savannah Noorbergen (Candy) and Marina De Jager (Vanity). Aleisha Gully moves from backstage to her first acting role playing Scratchit.
Mother Goose also boasts a talented chorus of villagers, children and fairies.
The gifted Halverson Family are well represented with Sarah playing Bodjit and Meghan playing one of the villagers. Tania Nash, the wonderfully funny Wall in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, plays Pretty Mother Goose and is joined by her husband, Neil, and her children Bodhi and Virgo Nash.
Family members are enjoying acting together in this show and it is a show that will bring laughter and entertainment to many hundreds of families.
