On Sunday June 17th at 2pm, at the Buderim War Memorial Hall, (cnr Main and Church Sts., Buderim) music lovers have a rare opportunity to enjoy a musical journey of popular songs that were loved by the early settlers in Buderim through to songs of the present day.
As Buderim celebrates 150 years of existence, Music Director Ken Chadwick OAM has chosen loved tunes from those early years, including The Blue Danube Waltz, Beautiful Dreamer, Keep the home fires burning, The Desert Song, Old Man River, and White Cliffs of Dover. The later years are represented by the up-beat music of Irving Berlin, Glenn Miller, Bill Haley, Elvis, The Beatles, The Seekers, and Peter Allen.
It will be a smorgasboard of musical delights, played by the superb Sunshine Coast Concert Band, with Singers Bev Gourlay, Alan Winter and Aart Schouten, and compere Graham Schulz. Many historical photos will also be displayed.
Since seats are limited, tickets can be pre-purchased at the Old Buderim Post Office (cnr. Burnett St and Lindsay Rd).
Tickets are $15 - which includes afternoon tea, with any remaining seats being sold at the door.
This concert is raising funds for the Cittamani Hospice, and is a featured B150 Event, and will be a most enjoyable afternoon's entertainment.
