Council has teamed up with Noosa sports clubs to give children a taste of the summer sports on offer locally.
Youngsters can try a wide range of sports for free at the Noosa Come-n-Try Sports Arvo on Tuesday, 2 August.
Council's Community Development Coordinator Alison Hamblin says past Come-n-Try afternoons have been popular with local kids, and a wide range of local sports clubs are again taking part.
"Local touch football, softball, cricket, orienteering and basketball clubs will all be on hand to provide primary-school-age children a taste of the sports on offer," she says.
"It's really a great afternoon out. The kids have a healthy snack before they start, and then they play all sorts of sports for about two hours," she said.
"It's always loads of fun, and it's great for the local sporting clubs that get a few extra signups for the summer season at the end of the afternoon.
"If your child has taken an interest in sport, but isn't sure which one they might like to pursue, this event will give them a taste of what to expect and help them make an informed choice."
The Noosa Come-n-Try Sports Arvo starts at 3pm (to finish at 5.30pm), Tuesday, 2 August at Noosa District Sports Complex (Butler St entry), Tewantin.
