De-amalgamation is a hot topic at present and there are many opinions on whether it is a good thing or not.

Cooroy Chamber of Commerce has decided to hold a public meeting so the community can hear more about it.  Noel Playford from Noosa Independence Alliance will attend to outline the details about their proposed new Noosa Council.  He will speak about financial details, structure and their new marketing campaign.  There will also be a question and answer session after his presentation to answer any queries from the community. Also the Member for Noosa, Mr Glen Elmes MP, will be in attendance to provide information on how the proposed new Noosa Council would proceed through the State Government.

"The Cooroy Chamber of Commerce does not have a position  on  de-amalgamation.  Without a doubt the majority of people were opposed to the forced amalgamation but we hear a lot of mixed opinions and confusion regarding de-amalgamation.  People also have a lot of questions about how de-amalgamation would work.  So we thought the best role the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce could play was to provide a venue for the community to hear what Noosa Independence Alliance has to say," said Cooroy Chamber of Commerce President, Seb Vecchio.

The meeting is open to the general public and will be held at the Cooroy Hotel on Tuesday 12 April 2011 commencing at 6pm.
