Set in the late 1950s, Not Fade Away follows the short-lived, but forever memorable career of Buddy Holly and The Crickets.
Starting with the infamous plane crash that marked “the day the music died”, travelling in reverse to his first big break, and ending optimistically, which depicts Buddy’s stalwart desire to play his own style of music, rather than succumbing to the wills of the record labels who demanded he play country music, not rock and roll.
After all… rock and roll was dangerous music!
Not Fade Away is an evening of vibrant music celebrating the youth and talent within a school setting. It incorporates Immersing the children in an historical journey that opens their hearts and minds, eyes and ears, to a timeless icon that should never be forgotten.
"We're thrilled to bring together singers, musicians, dancers and fans for an appreciation of Buddy Holly, one of the great early pioneers of rock & roll"
"And there's no better way to pay tribute to Holly's lasting influence than to hear from some of our most talented young stars." St Joseph’s Primary School Nambour
