OKA are the Sunshine coasts most incredible Groove, Dub sensation mixing handcrafted turntable electronics with didgeridoos, flutes and sax.
This soulfully rhythmic ode to chilled beats and luscious melodies will rock your body and move your soul for sure.
DidgeriStu brings to the mix his Islander Aboriginal culture, the Yidaki (didgeridoo), and his love of decks and beats, Matt, his passion for drumming and nightclub keys and Chris his Eastern travels, flutes, sax and slide guitar. Now they're touring on the back of their latest LP, "Music Makes Me Happy". Recorded and mixed in various locales around their Sunshine Coast base, the guys went where it felt right: Stus' Island Time Gallery, his home studio and the back of Chris Kombi camper, overlooking various surf breaks. The final mix was done while they were watching the waves of the Pacific hit the coast. After amazing performances at this years Woodford and Exodus Festivals OKA will be playing at the J on Saturday 03rd February from 7.30pm.
So let OKA spread their good spirits and chilled out sound: Yes indeed - "Music makes me happy". And it is bound to make you happy too. So come prepared to dance!
Support: Brides of Groove play dirty Balkan funk dance grooves with live looping on windsynth and digital drums. They are: internationally acclaimed artist Linsey Pollak with Jess Ainsworth, joined by Ric Halstead on sax.

Raper/turntablist Rainman is an insightful, socially-aware and boldly-honest performer within a hip-hop blueprint. He digs into themes as diverse as Australian history and reconciliation and unashamedly celebrating good times.
Tommy Illfigga is THE consummate B-Boy. Not content with mastering one of the five elements of hip-hop, Tom has opted for four (Beatboxing, Emcee, Writer, B-Boy), and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. Tommy's performance career spans six years alongside his alter-ego Tom Thum (world beatbox champion).
The Coalition Crew's critically acclaimed self-titled debut CD has been distributed nationally through Obese Records and has received healthy rotation on Triple J.
Rainman, Tom Thumb and The Coalition Crew have played alongside acts Hilltop Hoods, The Herd, Bliss and Eso, Butterfingers, Muph & Plutonic and Michael Franti and have appeared at many of this country's most high profile music festivals such as the Big Day Out, Livid, The Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival and the Woodford Folk Festival.
Sunshine Coast Rapper/producer Zelus will release his debut album the High Knights, he crosses over onto new ground combining rhyme, melody, fantasy and the Truth!
P-Jay is an unchained up and coming Hip-Hop artist. He's self-styled rapper with a unique Australian flavour. His powerful straight to the point lyrics are ripping rhyme snare critics alike. If you like raw Aussie rhyme slaying you'll love this man.
