OLÈ - an Expo for our Older Learners
Caloundra City's senior citizens will be saying OLÈ next month when Caloundra City Libraries' hosts the Older Learners' Expo at the Kawana Library and Community Centre on Wednesday May 11 from 10am to 2pm.
Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said the vibrant event is a major exhibition of learning opportunities for older learners and promotes the concept of lifelong learning for our community.
"Last year's Older Learners Expo was a huge success with senior citizens describing the event as fun, informative and inspiring," Cr Aldous said.
"With Australians living longer than previous generations, this year's theme We've got a lot of living to do highlights the importance of continuing to seek opportunities for learning into our senior years.
"The free Expo will showcase the diverse range of services or learning opportunities available to seniors with displays from many community groups, government agencies and allied interest groups."
Participants can look forward to a day filled with information sharing, musical entertainment and a variety of demonstrations including dance and yoga. A low cost morning tea and lunch will also be available on the day.
