Pinnaroo Park Proposal
Noosa residents, particularly those interested in Pinnaroo Park, are being invited to an informal public meeting there on Sunday, October 17th in order to discuss its future.
Local Councillor Peter McGregor reports Council has received a proposal from the Noosa Heads Rotary Club to undertake improvements to the park, as part of Rotary International's world-wide 100th anniversary celebrations.
"Neighbouring residents and other fans of Pinnaroo will be gathering at 9.00 am at the entrance off Noosa Drive, near the Post Office," said Cr McGregor. "Noosa Heads Rotary was involved with establishment of the park some 35 years ago and wishes to re-establish its connection through participating in upgrading and maintenance. The Club is also seeking Council support to re-name the area Pinnaroo Rotary Park.
"Feedback from the meeting will be considered by Council when the Rotary proposal is formally submitted. Any re-naming of parkland requires Council approval and has to be publicly advertised for one month, prior to a final decision being made."
