To find out more about Council's draft Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan 2016-2024 and to have a say, pop along to Noosaville Library on Tuesday April 12 or April 19, or Cooroy Library on Friday April 15 between 10am and 12 noon.
Council staff will be on hand to explain the draft plan and answer any questions.
The plan spells out Council's waste reduction and recycling priorities for the next eight years, including targets set by the state.
Residents are invited to view and comment on the Plan at Council's YourSay Noosa website at yoursay.noosa.qld.gov.au or by sending a letter to council at PO Box 141 Tewantin, QLD, 4565 from 29 March to 3 May. Hard copies are also available at the libraries for viewing.
A Noosa Council Waste and Environmental Health spokesperson said Queensland councils were legally required to implement plans to reduce waste.
"Our plan includes our community jury's recommendations for reducing organic waste sent to landfill. These recommendations – including a future mandatory green waste bin service – are an important part of our long-term Towards Zero Waste strategy.
"If residents have any queries at all or would just like to speak to council staff directly about the Plan, the library pop-ups provide that opportunity. If the times don't suit, then simply give council a call on 5329 6500."
To view the draft plan, visit the libraries between April 11-22 or yoursay.noosa.qld.gov.au. Submissions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to Council at PO Box 141 Tewantin QLD 4565.
