The Raw Sounds Festival is a project of Sunshine Coast Youth Partnership’s Future Leaders. The Future Leaders Program assists young people to develop their leadership and project management skills by building relationships between community, government, business leaders and young people on the Sunshine Coast through mentoring, leadership workshops and the development of a community project..

Team leader for the Raw Sounds Festival is 20-year-old Future Leader Lydia Watson. Ms Watson joined the Future Leaders Program to increase her involvement with local community-driven events and develop her leadership potential. “Raw Sounds Festival is a chance to recognise and celebrate the important contribution young people make to our local culture and community,” Ms Watson said.

“We make up around 17% of the Sunshine Coast population and there really aren’t enough events that provide a safe environment for young people to have fun and be entertained, especially if you’re under 18 and pubs and clubs are off limits.”
