REACH BEYOND YOUR FAMILY THIS CHRISTMAS
Reckon you could get together a bag of groceries to give away? That's all it takes to gain admission to the Goodlife Centre's 'Passionate' event on Saturday 20th November at 7:00pm. The groceries will be used in 'Lifehouse' Christmas hampers to be distributed throughout the community during the festive season, while 'Passionate' provides a great opportunity to meet a whole bunch of new friends and hear from three women who are making a radical difference in a hurting world.
Speakers include representatives from Family Challenge, with a focus on their work with children rescued from slavery in Uganda; Compassion Australia, who bring life and hope to children trapped in poverty; and Julie Beard will share the story of Salvador, who survived being horrifically burned and was able to begin a lengthy process of treatment after being discovered in a corner of a hospital in the Philippines where he'd been left to die.
The Lifehouse team provides emergency assistance to families on the Coast who are in need of food and household items, working with families of those in prison, with women's refuges and with those living on the streets via a weekly BBQ at Alexandra Headland.
The evening will include a Silent Auction, of course, lashings of dessert…
Please RSVP to Karen Lea by phoning 5444 2126 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday 16th November.
