Residents invited to help form bushcare group
Local residents are invited to team up with Mooloolah River Waterwatch and Barung Landcare to form a bushcare group for the Myla Road Bushland Reserve at Landsborough.
An information morning tea will be held on Saturday May 7 for residents to learn more about the reserve, issues affecting it and how they can be addressed.
Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said the natural landscape is not only home to many native plants and animals, but provides residents and visitors with valuable green space.
"It is important that we all work together to help preserve these valuable resources for future generations and for our wildlife," Cr Aldous said.
"Council is continuing to develop programs and partnerships to conserve these valuable areas and help protect the City's natural values."
Environmental weeds such as Madeira vine and Singapore daisy are starting to take hold in the 2.8 hectare reserve.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Council, environmental groups and the community to join forces to preserve this bushland reserve.
The information morning tea will be held at the creek on Myla Road, 150 metres north of the Vidler Road intersection, Landsborough at 9am.
