Maroochy Shire Council is reviewing the Shire's Sports Strategy and is seeking community input into the plan's preparation.
Maroochy Mayor Alison Grosse said the sports strategy review would determine community needs for sport and recreation facilities and services in Maroochy Shire over the next five years.
"We would like to know what Council is doing well and what needs to be improved as far as provision for sport is concerned," Cr Grosse said.
"Council wants to hear from residents about sport and recreation facilities or playing areas that need to be developed or upgraded in the future and community forums are being held to ensure that the community can have its say."
Consultants assisting Council with the review, Strategic Leisure Pty Ltd, will be conducting a series of meetings and forums in the coming weeks with residents, community groups, sporting clubs and facility managers.
Community forums will be held at in Maroochydore on Tuesday 10 February and in Nambour on Wednesday 11 February. If residents would like to attend one of these forums please telephone Maroochy Shire Council on 1300 366 695.
