Buderim’s beautiful Foote Sanctuary will come alive with a mix of pop, folk, classical and choir music for a special concert on Sunday 31st July.
The concert will be the the second of the Sanctuary’s regular series of outdoor concerts staged in its unique sound shell.
As well as a program of pop, folk, classical and choir music there will be an offering of a sausage sizzle, a range of food and drink, Garden Club plant stall and others selling artefacts and hobby ware.
Sanctuary Association Chair Geoffrey Hole said the gates will open in Park Lane Buderim at 11am for patrons and picnickers with the musical events beginning at 12.45pm going on until around 4pm.
On the natural grassed amphitheatre, there is space for family picnic rugs or else those who wish to be seated should bring chairs although some will be available.
“We have assembled the high end of local musical talent including The Buderim Mountain State School Choir, the Sunshine Coast Choral Society, the Sunshine Statesmen singers and the lively Ragtag Group who back their folk, pop and trad songs with guitars,” Mr Hole said.
“This is not a fundraiser but we will ask for a gold coin entrance fee and the sausages and other food will be supplied at cost. If there is any profit from this community event, it will go to buying native trees and shrubs.
“Parking is a bit tight in Park Lane so we suggest also using Eckersley Avenue to access the Sanctuary via the Simper Walk (an easy descent to the gate) and other surrounding streets.
“Wheelchair access can be arranged by calling me on 0415 265 534.
“We look forward to welcoming all ages to a pleasant Sunday outing that we hope will not only entertain but provide an introduction to our wonderful and unique dedicated War Memorial Sanctuary,” Mr Hole said.
