13 April 2006 Seniors gear up for annual Older Learners Expo
Caloundra City Libraries are counting down the days to another entertaining and information-packed Older Learners Expo (Ole).
This is the third year Ole has been held which is proof of its success and popularity.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said participants could look forward to a range of displays and information booths at the Kawana Library and Community Hall, showcasing the services and learning opportunities available to older residents.
"Ole has become a wonderful community event, attracting people from right across the Sunshine Coast," Cr Aldous said.
"This year participants can look forward to information-sharing covering a wide range of subjects and issues, musical entertainment and demonstrations including dance and yoga. A low-cost morning tea will also be available."
Last year's event proved a rousing success with seniors describing the day as 'entertaining, educational and enlightening'.
"This year's theme is 'Life is for Living' which is a true reflection of the attitude of many seniors who are leading longer, healthier lives then previous generations," Cr Aldous said.
Ole will be held at the Kawana Library and Community Hall, Nanyima Street, Buddina on Wednesday, May 10 from 10am to 2pm. To participate in the expo or for further information, contact Di Warner at Caloundra City Libraries on (07) 5491 1255.
