BEMAC in partnership with QMusic are thrilled to present a week-long suite of events during the inaugural Queensland Women's Week in March 2016. SingOut Sista will celebrate culturally diverse female artists featuring panels, developmental workshops, networking and performances. Most events are free. Bookings are essential.

March 7 – March 9 SINGOUT SISTA DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 9.00am – 4.00pm This program will assist young and emerging female artists from culturally diverse backgrounds to develop their musical and professional skills and establish professional networks. Participants will explore writing, voice, recording, performance techniques, social media, marketing and promotional strategies and what it takes to make a career in music. Facilitators include Roz Pappalardo, Toni Janke, Michelle Padovan, Deb Suckling and Ruth Ghee. This program is free for young women from Indigenous and culturally diverse backgrounds aged 18 and above. Registrations are essential

Wednesday, March 9 WOMEN IN MUSIC INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT PANEL 6.00pm – 8.00pm Facilitated by Chanel Lucas from Women in Docs and featuring some of Queensland's most experienced female artists from a broad spectrum of genres and backgrounds including Carol Lloyd, Ruth Ghee, Maggie Collins, Roz Pappalardo and more – this panel will explore the important contributions women make within the music industry, and how by supporting and energizing our community to create and work innovatively with each other we can ensure the industry continues to develop and evolve. It will also explore the challenges women face within the industry both as artists and as industry workers. Free – Registrations essential

Friday, March 11 WOMEN IN MUSIC NETWORKING DRINKS 5.00pm – 6.30pm All musical women are invited to an industry networking session at The Queensland Multicultural Centre. Come get connected to your community. Free – Registrations essential
