Hot on the heels of a recent workshop by English embroiderer Jenny Adin-Christie, who was part of the team who worked on the Duchess of Cambridge's Wedding Gown, the Noosa Branch of the Embroderers Guild will hold an exhibition of their works at the Harbourside Gallery, Noosa Marina as “3D Guest Artists” for August.
Jenny Adin-Christie who trained with the Royal School of Needlework, shared her knowledge of this ancient art to the enthusiastic members of the Guild. This is a mixed group of new and experienced devotees who develop their skills through workshops either at Wallace House or with wonderfully talented embroiderers from around Australia or overseas. Thus, many of the pieces on exhibition will show a wide variety of embroidery styles and historical pedigree of the powerful needle. Spokesperson Helga Hill says the Guild would like to inspire visitors with their amazing work and hope to welcome new members to their group that meets at NACA (Wallace House) on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.
