This annual event is celebrating it's 22nd year.

Come and join us on Friday 19th September 2008 from 5:00pm for Strawbfest 2008 at Chevallum State School, Chevallum.
There is even more to Strawbfest in 2008. Our stellar line-up includes international foods, exquisite strawberry desserts and drinks, hip-shaking live music, children's entertainment including Ned Knucklehead, games and rides that will have the kids squealing for more, stalls laden with second-hand books, clothes and bric-a-brac and a thrilling fire-works display. The evening commences at 5:00pm just as the sun settles and the night comes alive.
Chevallum Permaculture is out in force this year, offering plants, seeds, books, information, a fabulous array of items available at the Dutch auction and a program of guest speakers. Be sure to visit the Permaculture tent from 5:15pm to 7:15pm to hear our speakers. Topics include Summer

Crops: Luscious Tropical Vegetables with Elisabeth Fekonia,  The Benefits of Eating Seasonally with Robyn Cook, Native Gardens with Tanya Wheeler and Learning from the Garden with Janet Millington
Elisabeth is our own Sunshine Coast expert on growing sub-tropical vegetables and can show us how to prepare them. Janet has over 20 years experience as a teacher who gardens and has just released her new book, 'Outdoor Classrooms, A Handbook for School Gardens  and will inspire us to integrate school curriculum and gardens - this is a must for teachers. Tanya propagates native trees and shrubs and will share her knowledge on local species. Robyn, a regular guest on ABC Coast FM will talk about the importance of Eating with the Seasons. All this knowledge under one tent is a terrific opportunity to have all your questions about gardening answered.
