This rarely opened garden will be featured on Gardening Australia in 2017. For the first time in three years Cheryl and Bob Boyd's stunning Verrierdale garden will be open to the public.
One of Queensland's most delightful gardens, and nearly 25 years in the making, it will be opened on Saturday and Sunday October 15 and 16. Nestled among a woodland of blackbut, stringybark, and tallowwood, the garden has been inspired by the work of many garden designers, including the famous Edna Walling, one of Australia's best-known landscape designers who was known for her stepping stone paths, rock walls, and artfully placed pots and sculptures.
New Zealand-born Cheryl, a talented horticulturalist and garden designer, has used her extensive plant and design knowledge to create a series of garden "rooms" which have their own ambience and which are discovered unexpectedly as you find your way from one spot to the next.
The event is a fundraiser for the No Broiler Farm Cooroy group's legal fund, established to help defend the developer's appeal against Noosa Council's decision to reject the 8-shed chicken meat farm proposed for west Cooroy.
