'Sundays at Kings' brings the luck o' the Irish to Caloundra City
You don't have to be Irish to kick up your heels at the next free 'Sundays at Kings' event, where one of Australia's top Irish vocal acts - Tulca mór - will descend on Kings Beach Amphitheatre.
Caloundra City Mayor, Don Aldous, said residents and visitors are invited to bring the family along on Sunday May 29 from 3pm to 5pm when the renowned Brisbane-based Irish band performs an energetic mix of traditional Irish songs and high-energy tunes.
"'Sundays at Kings' is a Council initiative aimed at providing regular free entertainment for both residents and visitors each month and Kings Beach Park, with its beautiful beachfront parklands, provides the ideal backdrop for the community to enjoy these events," Cr Aldous said.
Division 9 Councillor, Tim Dwyer encouraged everyone to come and indulge in Tulca mór's polished musical arrangements, featuring Irish-born vocalist Jenny Fitzgibbon's humorous ditties and haunting ballads and accordion-fiddle duets backed on bouzouki and guitar.
"Tulca mór boasts a reputation as one of Australia's premier Celtic bands and when residents and visitors witness their lively performance, they'll understand why," Cr Dwyer said.
'Sundays at Kings' is sponsored by Caloundra City Council and the Tasqua Hotel Group - Kings Beach Tavern.
