Background Profiles on the Groups and Performers
Le Caladonian Society from Maryborough (Highland Swordsmen)
The Highland swordsmen, bring to life the romance and splendour related to the scottish highland. Dressed in kilts and embraced by the sound of the pipes. Highlighting weapons from periods of scottish wars of independence (William Wallace) through to the 45th rebellion this group immerse themselves in the scottish visions. Find them also on the field of honour.
Orc Crystal
Will attend the Fayre as roving minstrels with fantasy and elf like qualities you will see them throughout the Castle, where they will captivate audiences with their unusual costumes and specialised musical style.
Knights, merchants and traders are a sunshine coast based reenactment society who portray folk of the 11th & 12th century. Their emphasis is on the era following the Norman Conquest and they seek to recreate combat and customs paticular to those times.
KMATIO will demonstrate fighting, games, crafts and music. Look for them on the field of Honour for a combat display.
Swiss Mercenaries
This group seeks to bring to life the disciplines and costumes of 15th century brigade soldiers.
The Swiss mercenaries were some of the most elite forces of the late fifteenth century and they helped to disintegrate the order of chivalry as well as the feudal standard. They were preceded by the English longbowmen, and succeeded by the Landknechts, who adopted Swiss tactics to produce a force that dominated Europe for years. Since 1859, only one mercenary unit has been permitted under the Swiss constitution, certainly the most famous of all: the Vatican's Swiss Guard, which has been protecting the Pope for the last five centuries.

Specialising in traditional 15th century arts and crafts, the members of Nobles' Quest create as faithfully as possible, authentic handmade clothing and accessories and demonstrate and display a selection of crafts of the era, spinning and weaving, needlework, leatherwork, embroidery, millinery, cooking etc
