Sunshine Coast Bush Poets Festival 2006

There was movement at the station and the word had got around… that the Sunshine Coast Bush Poets Festival in Buderim is on again.

The Festival, now in its fourth year, will be held on January 25 at the Buderim War Memorial Hall, corner of Church  Street and Main Street, Buderim. The hall is now fully air-conditioned so it will be very comfortable. The evening will kick off at 6pm with a Bush BBQ and there will be a cold bar available.

The evening's entertainment will begin at 7pm.

This year the featured Poets are award winning Wally "The Bear" Finch, Mark Feldman and the inimitable Arcadia Flynn. There will also be several other guest poets including the very talented Pat O'Shea. To add  to the event there will be bush ballads and musical interludes by Aussie larrikins McGuinness and Co.

The event, originally an initiative of the BWMCA, is being promoted by the Friends of Rotary organization. This is a group of people whose support of Rotary takes many forms not the least of which are promotional fund raisers such as the Bush Poets Festival. All funds raised will be going to Rotary Club projects both local and international.

If you are a proud Aussie then get along to Buderim on the 25th Jan and enjoy the humour and music of the best in Aussie bush poetry and ballads.

Tickets can be purchased at the Old Buderim Post Office Information Centre in Burnett Street, ( cash or cheque only), at the Buderim Chronicle office in the Middy's Complex ( cash, cheque or eftpos/credit cards) or by phoning 5445 4888 ( eftpos/credit cards only).
