From Jamie Oliver to Palmwoods
Hayley Robinson will share her remarkable journey, from working alongside Jamie Oliver in London to starting her own café on the Sunshine Coast, with the women attending the next Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network breakfast on Tuesday, May 8.
Hayley will recall her amazing culinary story which began as an apprentice chef in Byron Bay before heading over to London to work with one of the world's most famous chefs.
There the brilliant combination of Ben O'Donahue and Jamie Oliver introduced her to a world of exciting recipes, cook books, cooking TV programs, food styling and more experiences than any young chef could dream of.
Her journey then changed course unexpectedly. Jamie had kindly offered to sponsor Hayley to stay in the UK but, while visiting Australia, she found a lump under her arm and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma shortly after.
Hayley will share how this turned her world upside-down, how she coped with her health issues and the somewhat unconventional choices she made regarding her health journey which also led her to open Sister at Palmwoods.
She will also share more about Jamie's tour to Australia at the end of last year when he asked her to join the team as the only Australian crew member.
"Hayley's story is remarkable and the combination of her anecdotes of working with Jamie Oliver on the international stage and her inspirational personal and business success is sure to keep our guests enthralled," said Karen Neuendorf, President of the SCBWN.
