A choral feast awaits the public on Saturday 26 May when 10 Sunshine Coast Choirs and Groups plus the famous Occidental Glee Club from Los Angeles each sing works specially chosen for the Sunshine Coast Festival Concert and then come together as a massed choir of over 250 people to sing some fabulous classical choral pieces such as the Hallelujah Chorus, Cwm Rhondda and some very moving African and Gospel songs.
The concert starts at 1.30pm and will be held at the Maroochydore Baptist Church and Community Centre, Wises Rd, Maroochydore.  Tickets are all concession priced at $10 with light refreshments included.
If you have been thinking of joining a choir on the Coast, come to this showcase of choral singing by the Buderim Male Choir, the Mapleton Community Choir, New World Rhythm, Noosa Chorale, Out of the Blue, the Pomona Choir, Praisemakers, Spiritsong, Tapestry and Vox 16.
These groups sing a wide variety of music including classical choral music, jazz, gospel and world music, so there is a choir for everyone and the concert will appeal to all musical tastes.  The one common thread to come through the Choral Festival is the joy, camaraderie and fulfillment of singing together.
The massed choir will be conducted by Brian Martin and Adrian King and the Master of Ceremonies for the Concert will be Graham Schulz.
The auditorium at Wises Rd Baptist Community Centre seats more than 500 people on padded tiered seating so everyone can comfortably enjoy the concert.
