Big crowds are expected at Stockland Park when the Caloundra Eagles lay down the challenge to the Sunshine Coast Fire at their much anticipated clash on Wednesday, April 23 at 7pm.
This is a game not to be missed with the return of former state league player Ray Schulz to the Caloundra side and several international players running out for the Fire.
Sunshine Coast Council Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox said this game is sure to be competition at its best with the Caloundra Eagles being one of the strongest clubs on the Coast going head to head with the Fire as the Sunshine Coast’s elite football club competing in the National Premier League.
“I hope this local derby could become an annual event as well as one of the best attended matches of the year for football on the Coast, with Stockland Park packed to the rafters with enthusiastic football fans, providing an electric atmosphere,” Cr Cox said.
“With over 5,000 players on the Sunshine Coast, football is one of the most popular sports played and Stockland Park is proud to be the host venue for games of this high calibre.
“As to who I think will win the game, I believe the true winner on the night will be the game of football, and may the best team win.”
In support of promoting the FFA Cup and football on the Sunshine Coast, the Sunshine Coast FC Managing Director Noel Woodall has opened the gates free to the community with more exciting announcements about the upcoming events expected soon.
