Festival a great weekend of live theatre!

For the past 30 years, the Sunshine Coast Theatre Festival has been entertaining those discerning theatregoers who realise what a great weekend of good value-for-money, entertainment it provides.

With theatre companies from all over Queensland, making their way to the Sunshine Coast to compete, the festival provides a bevy of short, sharp live theatre entertainment over 4 days, and a Weekend Festival Pass will set you back, just $35.00.

That's right, 25 plays, over 4 days, for just $35.00.

The festival kicks off on Thursday August 19, with an evening session only, and continues on Friday 20 evening, and then runs all day on Saturday 21 starting at 9am & Sunday 22 starting at 10.15am, ending with the presentation of awards on Sunday afternoon at 5.30pm.

With the festival celebrating it's 30th Birthday this year, there will certainly be a party atmosphere around the event, so get along, and join in the fun.

Guest adjudicator this year will be Brisbane actor, writer and Director, Ron Kelly who has appeared in many television series, movies and commercials, as well as being an accomplished actor and writer.  Ron is always an entertaining character, making the festival fun and interesting for the audience, whilst providing constructive feedback for the actors and directors.

Making an appearance at the Festival, will be 2 award-winning plays from the 2010 National One-Act Playwriting Competition run by Noosa Arts Theatre which beat 55 entries from right across Australia back in June.

They are the comedy Tudu Ou Nada written by Frank Wilkie, which won the Audience Choice Award, and the chilling drama God Willing by Bruce Olive, which won Best Play, as voted by the judging panel. Both will make their final appearance at the festival.

Mark your diaries now!  It is just like a short film festival...only live!

All tickets are on sale at the door. The festival will be held at the Buderim War Memorial Hall, corner of Church and Main Streets, Buderim.

A 4 day Festival Pass costs just $35.00, and is great value, entitling you to entry to ALL sessions.

Session Ticket: $12.00 Adults, $5.00 Children.
Family Session Ticket: (One Session): $25.00 (2 adults & 2 Children)
