Eumundi's outdoor cinema Flicks in the Sticks is heading poolside to the Eumundi Aquatic Centre for their next screening of animated feature SURF'S UP (PG) on Friday 12 November.

Flicks in the Sticks Director Trent Harvison says movie-goers can float in the pool and watch the film.  "But if you don't want to get wet -- no problem, there's plenty of grassed areas at the pool to watch the movie on dry land".

The Eumundi Aquatic Centre doors will open to moviegoers from 6pm, with the screening starting around 7.00pmish. BYO floaties, noodles, lilos for the pool, or blanket, beanbag, chairs or couch for the land. Lifeguards will be on hand to assist with pool supervision.

The SURF'S UP screening is a fundraiser for the Eumundi Swimming Club, who will be cooking up a storm with a sausage sizzle and BBQ from 6pm.

"The cost is only $7 per person, and free for children under 3 years of age," says Trent. "The price includes pool entry after 6pm"

The Eumundi Aquatic Centre is on Memorial Drive, at the Bruce Highway end of Eumundi.

As Trent cheekily adds, "Our dive-in movie will be so much fun, you'll wet yourself!"

A bit about the movie...

This story follows a teenage rock hopper penguin named Cody Maverick from his hometown of Shiverpool, Antarctica, where all of the other penguins think he's nothing but a surfing fool, to the "Big Z Memorial Surf Off" on Pen Gu Island.

Young Cody is determined to win the most important competition in the world of penguin surfing in honor of "Big Z," a deceased surfing legend whom he has idolized since childhood. But the waves in Pen Gu are different than in Shiverpool, and the competition is steep. The current champ, Tank Evans, isn't just about to let this little penguin knock him from first place without a fight.

When Cody wipes out and encounters Geek, a recluse aging former surfer living in the jungle, he learns some important lessons about life and surfing, and even teaches Geek a thing or two.
