Take a Chance on Me

By Roger Hall

23 November to 2 December

Directed by Mary-Ann Vale

By Arrangement with Playmarket

End 2006 with a laugh at Noosa Arts Theatre when Take a Chance on Me opens on 23 November for a short two week season.

Take a Chance on Me is a top comedy by New Zealand's leading playwright, Roger Hall.

Internet dating, dating agencies and the predicaments and thrills of finding a new partner are a popular theme for comedies at the moment.  Take a Chance on Me is one of the funniest.

Author, Roger Hall has been writing a stage play every year since 1976, including musicals and pantomimes.  Middle Age Spread ran for 15 months in London's West End and won the Comedy of the Year award.  He has also written a stage musical version of Footrot Flats and more than sixty half-hour sitcom episodes including Gliding Off and Spin Doctors for NZ television and Conjugal Rites for UK television.

Take a Chance on Me examines three men and three women of different ages, occupations and classes, all of whom take the first step into starting up a new relationship.  Their journey is risky, hilarious and at times embarrassing.

Take a Chance on Me was a great hit as a rehearsed reading in the Noosa Longweekend this year and whet the appetite of many to see the full production.

With a winning script, with Mary-Ann Vale directing and a cast including Frank Wilkie, Viv Somers, Sandi Phillips, Kathryn McTaggart, Kate Cullen, Peter Browne, Mark Gerrett and Des Coroy, a great night's entertainment is assured.  Not surprisingly, the play has adult themes.

Performances are on 23, 24, 25, 30 November and 1, 2 December at 7.30pm with a matinee on Sunday 26 November at 2.00pm.  Tickets are $25 with concessions and group bookings at $20.  First Night tickets are $30 with no concessions and include supper and drinks.

For bookings, phone 5449 9343 or go to Noosa Arts Theatre on Saturday mornings from 9.00am to noon.  See Tickets page for seating plan at www.noosaartstheatre.org.au.
