Australian Girls Choir

You will need to be quick to secure a seat to witness some of the nation’s most talented singers, the Australian Girls Choir, perform for free at Sunshine Coast Council’s Nambour Civic Centre at noon on Tuesday 9 July 2013.

Best recognised for their involvement in the spectacular ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ advertising campaigns for Qantas, the Australian Girls Choir currently trains nearly 4000 girls aged five to 18 years across five states of Australia. Junior girls sing and play in their weekly classes, while senior performers dazzle audiences at their appearances at prestigious events. Recently, members of the choir welcomed US talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres to Sydney for her Australian visit, and were thrilled when Ellen showed off a few of her signature dance moves to the AGC’s performance of ‘Land Down Under’.

The choir has toured on 30 occasions to destinations all over Australia and to every corner of the globe. The girls have entertained dignitaries including Nelson Mandela, President Barack Obama, Pope Benedict XVI, the King of Tonga and Queen Elizabeth II and have performed at many wonderful venues around the world including St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, St Peter’s Basilica, the Hanoi Opera House and Disneyland Los Angeles and Paris.

The concert performance at Nambour Civic Centre will include spectacular renditions of great classic songs such as I Am Australian, I’ve Got The Music In Me, Shine, Old Man Emu, Waltzing Matilda, I Still Call Australia Home and many others.

The repertoire for the 16th National Tour includes:
