Will the apprentice master the master?

The grounds of the University of the Sunshine Coast will resound with the sounds of a verbal clash between two teams, one including USC PhD student David Fleischman and the other captained by Property Law lecturer Lucy Cradduck, as business leaders and local personalities from across the coast go head-to-head in the hotly contested 'Great Debate' hosted by the Sunshine Coast Business Network on Tuesday, October 13.

Proudly supported by the Faculty of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast, the event will see two highly influential teams battle for victory as they dispute over the controversial topic 'It's not what you know but who you know'.

To add interest to the debate, David, a former student of Lucy's in the Business Faculty's MBA program, is eagerly looking forward to using the skills acquired from the program to master the master.

Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network President and affirmative debating team leader, Sue Willis says that she's excited about being apart of this event and is looking forward to the friendly contest with some of the coast's most respected business men and women taking part in the debate.

"The 'Great Debate' is expected to attract a large audience and will provide guests with the opportunity meet and network with other like minded business people from across the coast," said Sue.

"Temperatures are sure to rise as discussions heat up during the debate as both teams pose compelling arguments in the battle for victory. So be sure not to miss this thrilling contest, come along support your team and join in the friendly rivalry while enjoying an evening of networking and fun."

The event, held at the University of the Sunshine Coast, is to be adjudicated by Annette Hughes, author and publisher.

The event kicks off at 5:30pm for registration, networking drinks and canaps, tickets are $35 for members and $52.50 for guests. For bookings or further information, please contact Chelsea Hunter on 0412 525 854
