Don't get mad 'get shirty'! That's advice from CQUniversity Graduate Certificate in Creative Industries student Zoe Martin who says everyone is welcome at her collaborative feminist art exhibition entitled 'Irony'.
In fact, Zoe invites people to interact and become part of her installation work.
"My 2D and 3D works explore the myths, resentment and fears of domesticity," she says.
"You can BYO business shirt to iron, burn and sign!
"Most people can easily relate to some sort of resentment toward repetitive and mundane domestic duties that are never completely done, because as soon as the task is finished it's time to start it again."
After winning awards during her Visual Arts study at TAFE, Zoe is now progressing her studies at CQUniversity Noosa Campus.
The 'Irony' exhibition at Artspace 101 in Brisbane Road Mooloolaba will be launched from 3pm-7pm on Saturday, March 22. It will remain on show daily from 10am-4pm until March 31 with details via www.artspace101.com.au . All works are on sale.
Zoe says it's vital that her art provides communication and connection with the viewer and that she works hard to evoke an emotional response.
The Sunshine Coaster was awarded and rewarded during her studies of Visual Art at Noosa TAFE Art School and now, as part of one of those prizes, she is holding what will be her first solo show.
Zoe was also the winner of the SCAP T3 Sunshine Coast Tertiary Art Prize for her 3D installation 'Voting Booth' and she continues to explore installation work that will be a feature of this new exhibition.
In addition to her installation work, Zoe is an imaginative and excellent draftsperson and her unique take on life, expressed in the various fine art mediums of painting, mixed media and photography, will also be on show.
Present and past students and staff of CQUniversity and CQ TAFE are reminded that they need to submit an entry form by April 18 to be in the running to win $1000 for their original artwork in the CQUni Creates exhibition. Selected artworks will tour to Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Mackay. More details and Entry forms are available at http://bit.ly/1nYxuuL .
