Local performer, producer and screenwriter, John Kendrick brings to the big screen Australia's first ever independent children's feature film, The Silly Billies Save the Circus. It is a riot of colour and action featuring Red Symons, Wilbur Wilde and the circus performers from Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge. This fun film, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival, shows us the value of assisting our friends.
When the Silly Billies hear that their circus friends are having trouble with their unscrupulous bank manager, they decide that they should help save the Circus! Mayhem, fun and laughter follow as the Silly Billies create chaos under the Big Top Tent. Maybe the circus would be safer with the nasty bank manager…but it certainly wouldn't be as much fun!
Can a bright red kangaroo in the 'wheel of death' help save the circus? Maybe not …but he looks awesome anyway! How much mayhem can one puppy cause on the high trapeze? Will the scheming bank manager get away with the box office takings? Will the nasty villain really raffle off the circus elephants? Life's a Circus!!
After many years of wicked wit on Red Faces, Red Symons is Australia's favourite TV villain who is about to get some payback as Horatio J Grumblebum the nasty Bank Manager. Wilbur Wilde, a regular on television and in hit bands, is Smidgely the villian's clumsy sidekick.
