The Sunshine Coast Blues Festival
September 16, 17 & 18
Nambour Showgrounds
The 2005 Sunshine Coast Blues Festival, will be held at Nambour Showgrounds from Friday afternoon on September 16 until Sunday afternoon on September 18.

The festival, presented by Arts Council Sunshine Coast Inc. and organised by the Artsun Blues ACT committee, will feature a hot line-up of Sunshine Coast, South East Queensland and Northern Rivers blues musicians.

The program will feature major acts including the legendary Hat Fitz & Itchy, who are respected nationally as principal players in the modern blues idiom; James T (ex-Canned Heat) & The Expatriates featuring Doc Span, two masterful American players with their Australian line-up plus The Hoochers from Northern NSW.
Local acts on the bill include Barry Charles, The Big Easy, The Chardonnay Sippers, Peter Steel, Michelle Brown, The Blue Monks, Owen Gray's Monkey Puzzle and  Chevallum Moonshine. Brisbane based bands include Brother Goose, 8 Ball Aitken, Harpoon, The Natural Born Lovers, The Rockin' Rhythm Cats plus Mike Frost & The Icemen.
On Saturday 17th there will be an early morning jam running from 11.00am to 1.00pm. Everyone gets to play, just like at the festivals of old! Back line and drum kit will be provided - players will just need to bring their instruments! There will be guitar and harmonica workshops for those wanting to improve their playing skills.
On the Sunday morning of the festival, The Hallelujah Chorus Gospel Choir, with some help from Barry Charles, Michelle Brown and The Big Easy, will feature in a gospel segment opened by Hat Fitz, a performance that promises to be of spiritual proportions!
Jane Michele will make a special appearance at Sunday's Finale Concert, with The Big Easy and The Spirits, all veterans of Woombye Blues Club days of the 80's and 90's. They will be joined by local players to form the Sunshine Coast All-Star Blues Family Finale Jam.
