22 short plays, over 3 days.
The stars come out to play at the forthcoming annual Sunshine Coast Theatre Festival at Buderim.
Opening on Friday 19th August, the 3 day festival attracts independent and community theatre groups from all across South East Queensland to the Sunshine Coast for this fabulous annual weekend of theatre all under the watchful eye of Guest Adjudicator, Brisbane based Actor and Director Karen Crone.
For those that caught the national tour of the hilarious comedy Creche and Burn a few years back, you will remember Karen.
Since beginning her career, working with the Queensland Theatre Company in 1981, Karen has starred in, and directed, everything from Annie, Hello Dolly, Miss Saigon, Amadeus and Cosi to Allo Allo, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Boy From Oz and Run For Your Wife.
Her film and TV credits include Crocodile Dundee in LA, Medivac, Fire, The Lost World, The Starter Wife and Fat Cow Motel.
But the stage remains her first love and she will impart some of her knowledge, at the enjoyment of the audience, on those participating in the festival in a few weeks time.
The annual 3 days event, presented by the Sunshine Coast Theatre Alliance offers 22 short plays, over 3 days! A marathon of live theatre action!
Among those groups coming to the coast to participate in the popular festival, are Brisbane Arts Theatre, Excalibur Theatre Co, Golden Glove Productions (Brisbane), Dalby Players Theatre, Ipswich Little Theatre, and King Street Players, as well as local groups such as Noosa Arts Theatre, BATS Theatre Co., Caloundra Chorale & Theatre Co., SAD Productions and Random Acts.
