The Valley Rattler Steam train, Gympie Gold Mining Museum, Woodworks Museum and the replica Mary Ann Steam locomotive join forces to hold a special steam and machine event on 9 -- 12th April 2010. This huge 4 day festival incorporates 3 venues demonstrating all aspects of Steam driven transport and industry.

The Valley Rattler Steam Train trip departs daily for half day scenic tours down through the beautiful Mary Valley to the small country town Amamoor, with great views, markets and with a stopover at Dagun Station on the way back for the local wine and cheese tasting.
The replica of the 1873 vertical steam engine, The Mary Ann, will be taking passengers on local trips every 40 minutes all day Sunday and Monday.
Gympie Gold Mining & Historical Museum will be lighting the 20,000 litre Cornish Boiler to Generate the steam to operate a 110year old Walker Winding Engine. A small steam powered 110V DC generator will be operating and supplemented by steam roller demonstrations, portable steam engines and other steam powered equipment
The Woodworks Museum will have a full spectrum of activities to experience including blacksmithing, traditional hand tool demos, wood chopping, chainsaw carving , whittler, woodworkers, vintage steam engine display , portable steam engines, stationary & miniature steam engines, a static display of the steam driven bush sawmill, operational drag saw and the Blitz Truck display on show throughout the 4 days . On Saturday the woodworks will be hosting a Sawmilling Competition with the finals being held on the Sunday, with a Timber Auction following at 1pm. Don't miss the Axe Vs Chainsaw contest showcasing some of our talented local champions.
