There are claims that a genuine ghost haunts the Fortune Theatre in London where the ghost story The Woman in Black has been playing for the past fifteen years. Its presence has been reported again recently when it appeared to the side of the stage behind the actress playing the woman in black.
Likewise there's a ghost which comes and goes at The Indee Theatre at Eumundi. The local one has been written up on a number of occasions and is more of a strange whiff, a vague presence, than an apparition. Whether it will manifest itself during the local run of this spine-tingling ghost story remains to be seen.
The Woman in Black opens on Friday, 26th May for a two weekends season at the popular Eumundi heritage listed venue. It stars Luke Lanham and Tim Page, two of the Coast's foremost actors, plus the woman in black herself.
The theatre believes the play is so chilling it may be a wise idea for theatre patrons to bring a rug.
The Woman in Black will play at 7.30 Friday, Saturday May 26, 27, Sunday 28th at 2pm then 7.30 Friday, Saturday June 2,3 plus 5pm Sunday June 4th. Night performance tickets $18, concessions $16, Sundays $16, concessions $15 and applicable concessions apply to all groups of eight or more.
The Indee has comfortable table seating, is air-conditioned and has a coffee-shop and licensed bar. To book call 5472 8200.
