Opening night for the Three Women No Frontiers exhibition at Noosa Regional Gallery on 18 March 2011 from 6 to 8pm will serve a dual-purpose.
Not only will it officially launch the fascinating exhibition from Christine Maudy and her two daughters, it will also celebrate 10 years of artistic excellence from this international visual artist, since her first solo at the Noosa Regional Gallery in 2001.
Focussing on the concept of frontiers through life and artistic expression, Three Women No Frontiers will present three perceptions of a shared world and frontiers.
Community Policy and Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the exciting exhibition is the first time Christine has collaborated with her two daughters.
"The exhibition will look at how the careers of three women have been influenced by their joint experiences, their travels, and their individual world views," she said.
"Through painting, photography, song, music and moving image the exhibition will reveal how one woman became two and then three in the artistic world and praises the life affirming experience of multi-cultural exposure."
The Maudy women were born in France and moved to Australia in 1995.
Pauline Maudy, aged 28, is an accomplished vocalist based in Brisbane and a proactive businesswoman and arts worker in the Australian music industry.
Pamela Maudy, aged 18, is a photographer and is pursuing a promising future in fashion design.
A publication documenting Christine Maudy's 10 year history of intensive painting and her work's journey around the world will be launched at the exhibition.
Officially opening the exhibition will be Sallyanne Atkinson, Honorary Consul for Brazil in Queensland, professional company director and former Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Australia's Senior Trade Commissioner in Paris and Chairman of Queensland Tourism.
Three Women No Frontiers runs from 18 March to 24 April 2011.
