The XXXX GOLD Queensland Bulls will ramp up their pre-season cricket build-up next week on the Sunshine Coast with a swag of cricket and promotional appearances, including the Suncorp Twenty20 Challenge.

The Bulls will play two 50-over and two Twenty20 matches against the PKF Tasmanian Tigers and West End Redbacks as part of their preparations for the 2009-10 season, which starts on 11 October.

All available contracted players will attend the Bulls camp from Sunday through to Thursday, with coach Trevor Barsby and his staff putting the finishing touches to their off-season work ahead of the start of the summer.

Tasmania and South Australia have been regular visitors to the Coast in spring in recent years, and the Bulls will engage them in a round-robin practice series from Monday 28 September.

The Bulls will play the day/night Suncorp Twenty20 Challenge double-header on Wednesday at Roy Henzell Oval at the Caloundra Cricket Club, with the Maroochydore Cricket Club hosting the other matches.

It will be the first time in 11 years that the Bulls will feature in games on the Coast.

The 2008-09 Ford Ranger Cup champion Bulls will be at near full strength, with only Australian allrounder James Hopes (Champions Trophy) and pace bowler Ryan Harris (knee) unavailable.
